Training Band

Our Training Band is the best place to get started on learning an instrument in a fun, friendly and relaxed environment. Our leadership group know how to get the best out of our trainees, with the vision that music will become a regular part of their lives.

If you’d like to join our training band, you’ll need the following:

– A desire to play in a band

– Be free for an hour on Thursday nights

Other things that may help, but are not strictly required to get started, are:

– Knowing which instrument you’d like to play

– Access to an instrument

– Some basic ability to read music

If you’re missing some of these, we have options:

– Our leadership team can help advise you what instrument might suit you best

– If you can’t supply an instrument, we can point you towards instrument rental at a very reasonable price. This includes the option of hire/purchase.

– We’ll help you learn to read music!

Our training band rehearses Thursday nights 5.45pm – 6.45pm at the Diggers Rd Hall in Werribee South.

So if learning an instrument is something you’re interested in, please get in touch with Corrina on 0432 703 458. Corrina is our Training Band Musical Director and she’d love to hear from you!

The costs for the training band are very low. We have an membership fee of $10 per term, with a uniform fee of around $100.

Once you’re comfortable, you’ll be given the opportunity to join the Werribee Concert Band itself. The (senior) band has an annual membership of $70 and a $2 per week attendance fee (which covers post-rehearsal snacks).
